What Are Sweeps Coins?
Every sweepstakes casino runs two currencies. Gold Coins (GC) are for fun: you play with them, but you cannot redeem them for anything. Sweeps Coins (SC) are sweepstakes entries. You play the same games with them, and Sweeps Coins you win can be redeemed for cash or gift cards. Some sites give their sweeps currency its own name, but it works the same way.
US sweepstakes law says no purchase can be required to enter, which is why these sites give Sweeps Coins away for free. When you buy a Gold Coin package, the free Sweeps Coins that come with it are a bonus, not the thing you paid for.
Are Sweeps Coins real money?
Not directly. At most sites 1 SC redeems for $1, but only Sweeps Coins you have played through can be redeemed, and only once you reach the site's minimum and pass an ID check. Until then they are a balance for play.

3. Alternative method of entry (AMOE)
Because no purchase is required, each site's sweepstakes rules describe a free way to request Sweeps Coins, often a handwritten request sent by mail or submitted through the site. We list the free entry offers from 4 sites on the AMOE entries page. Follow each site's rules exactly, and play through each entry before you send another.
4. Social media giveaways and promotions
Many sites post free SC codes, contests and giveaways on their social media pages, and run promotions such as tournaments or mission rewards inside the site. Following the sites you play at is an easy way to pick these up.
5. Referral bonuses
Some sites give free Sweeps Coins when a friend you invite signs up and meets the site's conditions. Check the referral section of your account for the current terms.
How to Redeem Sweeps Coins

Sweeps Coins are only redeemable in the states where a site operates, and you must meet its minimum age. Check the sweepstakes casinos by state list before you start collecting.
